The guys arrested and named in all the reports were neither the 911 caller nor the original accused passenger.

I still want to know who made that call and why s/he is not being prosecuted.
S/he is not even being named, and the original excuse for the call is hazy and lame.
If you shout "fire" in a crowed theatre and someone is trampled to death as a result, that is considered murder.
The authorities have more than enough excuses for their brutality. Here's just one more.

Prosecuted with what? I don't think the caller had any malicious intent. Whoever it was ended up not having a bus ride to New York that night so I don't think they would of done that unless they were really scared. You want people to be vigilant and false alarms happen because of it. This wasn't even a week after an attempted car bombing in Times Square which was foiled in part because the vigilance of regular folks. The alternative is so much worse.

It sucks for the people involved in the false alarm but unfortunately that's the world we live in now.

No. It was either malicious intent or insanity and, either way, that person belongs in a cage.
The fact that the reports try to distract you from the only crime committed that day is a clue.
They're not promising or even hinting at an investigation.
People could easily have been killed by this dangerous lunatic. That's the real terrorism.

That's pretty ridiculous. People have a right to privacy. They're not going to just give out names. The police obviously thought it was a legitimate enough to respond the way they did. Scares like this always happen right after a terrorist incident.

This isn't really even worth discussing.

The police would have responded that way no matter how ridiculous the call.
I don't expect them to publish the lunatic's name immediately,
but I do expect them to find out why the call was made,
and prosecute the fool if it's for a stupid or racist reason.
This is what you get when you're living under martial law.
The whole thing is insane. It's witch hunting.
It's not about keeping us safe. It's about keeping us in line through terror.
It's time to wake up and realize who the real terrorists are.
