Politicians are like baby diapers. They are full of sh*t and should be changed regularly.

Politicians reflect the peoples' wishes that is why they want them to lie to them every election.

What's the point in voting when the electoral system is corrupted. The candidates are handpicked before we even know it, and the whole thing is just a staged event it feels like. Local elections however, I don't know. Perhaps it's the same concepts on local levels.. I can't really fathom a free and fair election where all party's are represented equally instead of these corporate bought up bandits.

Don't you mean the bad cop instead of the "badder" cop?

But really, best bet is the person you know will lose, that way no matter who wins, you still have the intellectual right to say "well, if the guy that i voted for got in..... <insert some rhetoric here>"

The corruption of the political system is based ONLY on the ignorance of the electorate.
That is why the government does actually try to get more people to vote. The marginal voter is more likely to vote for "the most popular" party, as opposed to a viable alternative. And if they don't they'll just vote for the Marijuana Party or the Rhinoceros Party or some protest party.
Only education of the people, which is NOT supported by the power-elite, can bring about change within the confines of a "democracy"
