Whenever they are bit by evidence against their fundamentalism,. They have to choose between figuring out they are crazy and changing or make up a conspiracy theory to explain why the evidence appeared. The ones that figure out they were crazy stop being fundies, so...

Yes, it's a troll. The structure of the question leans towards a predetermined answer.
I don't think so. I can think of many possible answers to this question.

Edited to add:: Oops, I read that as why do ASPIES have a persecution complex. My bad. I'm not a fundie, I'm Catholic. Anyway, this was my response to the topic I thought it was:

I don't think we do, but I do think we are more sensitive to unfair situations so we may be hypervigilant about watching out for them. It may seem like we have that, but I think it's more or less a protective mechanism.

Yeah, I thought better of it. I usual write in notepad so I can read what I wrote. If one persecutes, one just might get persecuted oneself.

People like to feel like their part of a persecuted minority, it makes them feel noble. Why does Rush Limbaugh make so much money? He figured out how to make a white male audience feel like a persecuted minority. Look at most political talk radio, the really successful hosts all seem to excel at making their listeners feel under siege.

Is there any evidence that these people have this psychological problem or are we supposed to take the OP's word for it?

Ever heard the phrase "the war on Christmas"? A *LOT* of other examples can be pulled up if and as necessary, but the mindset clearly exists.

So anyone who rejects the term "happy holidays" has a psychological problem? That's just stupid.

"Persecution complex" is being used colloquially, not to refer to a diagnosable problem.

Even further, the issue is a degree of fervor. Now, get on track: you're useless if you're trying to pretend the non-existence of well-known pieces of evidence, and all it shows is that you are incredibly biased towards a certain conclusion. You're better off reinterpreting evidences than denying them if you want to make your case, but playing the brick wall will make you easily dismissed.

The phrase is a poor choice of words but I don't see how it's indicative of a persecution complex. It means that Christmas is being pushed out of public life, not that anyone is being persecuted.

Neither of the example cited involve Christians claiming to be persecuted in any sense of the word. These are cases of Christians protesting the removal of Christians traditions from public.

part of the christian narrative is the epic battle between good and evil. The concept of persecution is just a facet of that.

Telekon: Turn on ABC for the NH Republican debate going on tonight. There you can hear Gingrich and Santorum bitching about how persecuted the Catholic church is under Obama. Or check Youtube for Rick Perry's ad about the "war on religion." Or take any of your pick of right-wing bloggers. Basically, you are being ridiculous. Either you live under a rock and really aren't aware of this sentiment or you are being deliberately obtuse.
