I left this site because I felt out of place due to my unashamed Christian status. So, I'm wondering if anyone else here is Christian and proud of it.

I am not ashamed to say I saw the above movie (a religious science fiction movie) and enjoyed it.

Right here! And don't leave. Christians have a lot to offer a site like this.

I'm a Christian and I'm involved in a special needs children's ministry.

On this site it is forbidden to be proud to be christian, white, wasp, heterosexual, didnt you know that? Being atheist, tanned and gay is preferred. 8)

If you use the word "WASP" (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant) "White" becomes redudant. Considering the fact that racist far-right extremists have started numerous threads over the past two years the "forbidden to be pround to be ... white" part is claptrap. As for the nonsense about hatred towards heterosexuality - I am heterosexual and lack shame over the fact, you pulled that out of thin air. Over a third of the forum is Christian.

I've never understood the concept of pride to begin with, but I'm especially puzzled when a native-born American who happens to have mostly European ancestors feels the need to take pride in being white. What, is being born to a white mommy and a white daddy in itself is some sort of accomplishment? While I understand that some people want to remember their heritage, I'd like to know why the emphasis is on being white rather than being 1/2 Dutch and 1/4 German and 1/16 Cherokee or whatever.

Oh, and on topic: No. I was never proud of being a Christian when I still considered myself a Catholic, but it wasn't for a reason you'd think of.

I'm a Christian - although not a very good one - but not proud of it. I don't see any reason for that. And neither am I ashamed of it.

^^Yaye, welcome rocklobster! I am very sorry as I am personally not Christian (or follow any particular religion), however I very much respect your beliefs and wish you well here.

I consider myself a Christian but not a church goer or member of any specific denomination. I do my share of sinning but i have Christian beliefs and some Christian practices. I don't know if I'd say I'm proud of it but I'm sure as hell not ashamed of it either. I don't know why anyone would allow themselves to be ashamed of it.
