* This does appear to be political posturing so Barack Obama is seen as Christian when he runs for reelection.

It appears that if Barack Obama wears Christianity on his sleeve so to speak, it is a political advantage to being reelected (my view) since it looks like Barack Obama may be opposed by a Bible thumping (extremist Christian Crusader) Republican (~ a Bush, Jr. clone).

Anyone that professes to know Washington's beliefs with certainty is deluding themselves. You cannot know completely what I believe and I am here to tell you. All of Washington's writings are at best a dim reflection of his true thoughts. Most arguments of this nature are projections of what the arguer WANTS to believe about Washington, usually to bolster an effort to promote their own beliefs.
