http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_phenomenon

The world won't end in 2012. Instead, my open opinion is instead there will be lots of misery, violence, disasters, and
natural disasters in 2012. No, I don't believe in Wikipedia, but I posted the link anyhow.
I also find it coincidental that the London Games will happen in 2012 and President Obama's term will end in 2012, not to mention 2012 is also a leap year.

Reasons why:
1. The Mayan Long Count Calendar doesn't specify a date. December 21st, 2012 is when their calendar ends.

2. Little to no news of a "mystery planet" has been reported on or published.

3. No one has been acting hysterical about the End Days.

4. If there will be a "big event" or "big series of events", science has yet to report its findings.

What say you?

Panicking about the world ending in 2012 because the Long Count calendar ends then is akin to panicking about the world ending on June 30 of next year because that's when my 18-Month Wolf Calendar ends.

I can't wait to see what kind of stupid things people will do on New Year's Eve 2011.

Actually, I doubt there'll be any more idiocy than usual but all it takes is a few passionate nutcases to go into the new year with a bang.

You wouldn't get that $1000 dollars if you win... unless you're joking.

Anyways, no.
It won't end.

There is no cogent, evidence based cause for thinking the world will end in 2012.

It will, because normally calenders go on forever and ever but for some reasons theirs stopped at 2012.

Are there any world leaders that believe in this 2012 story? That's what I'm interested in hearing.

What's the next hot date going to be? 2060? That's what Isaac Newton says.

Yes, joking. Betting on the world ending is just silly. Though most likely the only large value wager I'd ever win.
