Why do we need them?

Yeah the corporate/government elite who thinks they can keep up their BS without anyone ever getting fed up. We don't need them or their products. So why does everyone go along with it?.......why are so many people feeding the pigs and fighting to keep the illusion that they are actually accomplishing something for themself?
Why is someone who does not work 'worthless'? why should everyones main goal be to work?.......I understand important things can be made out of resources, people like to go out to eat ect. But there should be more to life then that......especially when people are settling for lower and lower wages, having to take on multiple jobs having to sit on the side of the street asking for change and such while the rich just keep getting richer. This is a sick society, a messed up system and something I really don't want to contribute to.
Is anyone else rather sick of the crap but unsure of what to do about it?

Here's a solution: emigration. If the goal of colonizing the solar system is actually worked toward, then there would be more places to go to get away. Each colony or space habitat would be virtually free to make their own economic systems and governments. If one goes bad, the inhabitants would have more places to go to elsewhere.

As for now, there is no land that's not claimed, but there's plenty of space in the oceans for oil-rig type structures to be built and dwelt upon. I seem to recall that there's an oil rig that had declared itself to be its own nation and was recognized by the UN, or rather I remember hearing about that anyhow. Living on a ship could be an option. IDK. You'd need to know how to gather, hunt, fish, etc. Probably would want to be a merchant or something of the sort, so as to earn money by trading. It's not a complete escape, but it's better than nothing.

Well I don't desire to just run away from it....I don't like how our society, government or economic system is set up, and It irritates me that all the sheep are just going along with it like everything is just fine....And its frusterating that I have no idea what to do about it.....or if there is anyone else who can honestly say they are unhappy with things and don't plan on giving into what society expects.

If you're trying to imply another revolution, think of these two points: 1) there are laws against even talking about it as an exception to the first amendment, and 2) even the revolutions of France and Russia sucked and made life worse for everyone. If you're not though, what are you suggesting? There is no real way to change the economic system here, it has too much bureaucratic inertia to even budge. Really, I see emigrating to space to be the only option and I for one am going to study aeronautical engineering and design spacecraft with the goal of cheap mass transit into space.
Colonizing the solar system is not feasible. Even if we had the technology (we don't) we could not move more than a few hundred or a few thousand off planet.

If it didn't work when we were talking about land masses that were only reachable by sailing vessel or by a very long walk, why would it work in space?

When corporations stop offering plasma tvs, iphones, junk food, pre-shredded jeans that make your ass look fatter (but everyone must have them anyway), and anything else you can get on blowout sale for $49.95.

Yes I am rather angry at both, and i am not sure exactly......but at the moment it seems everyone is conforming to a corrupt system.

Well I am talking about it...I have not instigated anything illegal, I am just suggesting that maybe the system we have is unessisary and does more harm than good. I think I am entitled to that opinion unless they want to make it illegal to even disagree with the system....in that case I suppose I am screwed. but whatever.

I know what you are saying. I pick my purchases strategically to last a long time and don't buy a bunch of useless made in China crap. For gas, I try to avoid anything from Venezuela or from BP since they are bad for energy independence. I try to buy American as much as possible. There still isn't a better system than capitalism even after 10,000-12,000 years, so it would be better to reign in the abuses than throw it out.
Either that or you could just forget about it and buy whatever product is NASCAR approved or is endorsed by some second-rate reality star in a commercial, because everyone knows that you have to be intelligent and well-educated to be a reality star, right?

I can't forget about it that is the problem, it is what it is and I dislike it. I guess I am not much of a capitalist..it would be easier if I were I guess.

I think that video is too intellectual to explain how consumer products are peddled.
