He's a sage of the modern age! Seriously though if you're interested in spirituality you should check him out. I'd post a video but not allowed to yet. He talks about finding your center and staying there. Watching yourself live life while dwelling in a state of freedom regardless of cirumstance.

Mooji seems like an interesting teacher.

My first and only teacher so far... What he says is so simple it's easy to dismiss and try to make it complicated. I experienced a few minutes of pure bliss after a few months of occasional self-inquiry, now I'm addicted. The ultimate goal seems to be experiencing this bliss without trying to hold on to it in any way. It was so damn awesome that I tried to chase it though :(

Let's see now. He is using his "intellectual faculties" to argue away using YOUR "intellectual faculties". I smell a rat here.

He's not saying don't use your thoughts. He's saying that you can't use your thoughts to achieve enlightenment because enlightenment cannot be explained with words. You can make use of your thoughts without identifying with them. Thoughts still happen without you putting effort into thinking them.

What specific practices does he recommend?

Well ultimately he recommends no practices at all, just letting yourself be. But he says things like ask "Who am I?" then don't use thought just look, understand that no thought, emotion, or sensation can be greater than what you are (that which perceives these). It's kind of like Buddhism condensed and without any moral laws to follow. He basically just points to pure consciousness as best he can.

Interesting. Most of the practices I study these days involve some kind of meditation. Personally, I practice a form of "ecstatic" meditation (blissfulness).

Cool. This is basically what I do:

Is that a 10-day retreat with Mooji?

That's an interesting way to meditate. I usually just focus on my breath. I wish it was with Mooji... I don't think he meditates though. It's a free retreat.
