Why, oh why did people elect republicans for congress?

I guess people thought:
"I hate Obama"
"I hate the deficit"
"I want someone to improve the economy".

However, the republicans are taking this as an opportunity to completely destroy any green initiative, PP and anything that threatens their values. Which happen to be the ones of a sexist religious extremist that hates the environment.

Meanwhile, the true spending sink, the source of the deficit, the elephant in the room, the military, remains untouched.

In an orgy of anti-environmentalism, the republicans just decided to 'cut spending' by making the congress library return to plastic cups. Yes, really, that's republicans' way to fix the economy.

A bit like the Republican party, they are white, seemingly indestructible and bad for the environment. But after an absence of four years, foam plastic coffee cups have made a comeback in the basement coffee shop of the United States Congress building after Republicans began reversing a series of in-house green initiatives undertaken by Democrats.

Regarding the economy; people voted in the Republicans to fix it. Oh yeah, they're really trying to fix the economy now with their culture war crap. I guess they think no one is watching. Or maybe they think enough people are actually afraid of gays serving in the military, and the commie menace of health care than they are of losing their jobs.

It's only a question of time. :(
It's not like Stephen Harper could actually be defeated...

Meh, the Conservative attack ads on Ignatieff are pretty hilarious in their absurdity. The problem is there doesn't appear to be anybody better then Harper. Then there is the whole Bloc Quebecois eating up useful Quebec votes that could benefit the rest of Canada. Harper probably would not be PM if the BQ would stop interfering with the federal system
Mind you Harper is so boring I almost like him. Nothing happens, which I take to be a good sign, as usually newsworthy politics is of a bad nature
