What kind of things did you do to connect with a new deck?

Actually today's Witches use pogo sticks.

Anyway should military decisions be based on the outcome of a Tarot card reading?

I sleep with mine... no hanky panky

I think it's very much a personal thing.

Some ideas here: http://www.tarotforum.net/library/16/20 ... 0822.shtml

It depends on whether the military leader gives any credence to information garnered through tarot reading.

Astrology was much used in the past to plan times for battles. Maybe it still is.

Rune casters, oracles and augers would definitely have been consulted before anything major in days of yore.

It's really a cultural thing. The prevailing culture doesn't put much stock in such things.

During a crisis a military commander shuffles a Tarot deck and if the Death card is drawn he initiates a first strike nuclear war. I suppose a Tarot card reading would reduce the likelyhood of nuclear war because there is only a one in 78 chance of this card being drawn. However this is still too close for comfort.

That's just silly.

Death can mean many different things.

You know where the real magic lies in the cards? It's all in the mathematics. Learn that and you can really predict the future.

Same thing with the Pentagram. But it is really called the Pentachoron. It is not a five pointed star inscribed within a circle but rather it is a five pointed star inscribed within a pentagon. It is actually a 2 dimensional projection of a hyper-pyramid which is a magical 4 dimensional object. It is the simplest 4 dimensional space object possible. How do I know this ? Not from the occult book store but by reading math books.

I don't recall asking for opinions on my religious beliefs.

I do nothing to connect with them I use other peoples decks, rooks cards or playing cards.
The magic is in me baby.
I always great results because I know a lot of stories (I am a anthropologist)
I love combinatorics (I am a mathematician)
I don't get too caught up in it (I am a skeptic well stronger than that a non-believer)

I will read yours or any ones over the net if you want.
When I was doing it on yahoo's question I got best answer every time.
I just have to find my turban.

My question would be, and I assume the answer must vary with the practitioner, to what degree is the fall of the cards inherently significant and to what degree to they serve merely as a jumping off place for other consciousness.

If I were doing anything of the sort, I know the cards as determinant would be minimzed.
