She was at first thinking it was tongue in cheek - my own sense is it ia a bit too neat and trim.

Pretty sure it is real. I think I've seen that cited by serious atheists. Also, it is "too neat and trim". Most fakes usually go way way way too extreme at one point or another to be taken seriously.

In any case, if you want my specific opinion, the PM function is better. I could have entirely missed this or gone off for a few days for whatever reason and had this sink into the abyss.

Uh, you could've just PMed AG the link. I don't understand why you had to make a public thread out of this if you only wanted his opinion.

Philologos did something similar in a thread asking Orwell about what one of Sand's statements meant (it turned out Sand was being sarcastic). Apparently, Philologos said he makes these threads public because Private Messages seem "sneaky" to him.

For the record -

in several cases I have gone PM to say something the whole world does not need to read.

Sneaky is often good and appropriate - I am an ennea-5 stealthmonger.

I have also had a pm outed - without asking my opinion - which I frankly consider low [even though I will stand by anything I say in private, I am the same and unashamed] - an opinion the moderator types apperar to share.

In this case - and in certain other cases - while I was particularly interested in responsde from Awesomely Glorious I was also wanting to put the site, for what it is worth, in front of the general body. In part to elicit data on individual reactions and to check my sense of it, in part because it is a decent piece of work and deserves to be looked at on its own merits.

Yeah, that makes the rest of the forum to get curious and wanting to know and yeah I believe the OP should have either PMed you or title the thread "AG, your public opinion?"
