Worst of all, this crap is set to crowd out news on Canadian politics in the closing day sof the election.
Monarchism is truly disgusting and outdated.
So get rid of it then. We'll keep ours, thank you very much.
You really have lame, nationalist rhetoric. Strictly speaking, I have argued in the past for abolishing the Monarch of Canada, but a funny thing is that I'm not supreme dictator - please stop refering to me as if I am identical to every single person and institution that lives in Canada and has absolute power to change anything I want.
I agree. I don't see what the Monarch does for us. I'm for strong ties to the U.K. but I'm not really of the opinion that monarchy is a good thing. There is the ancient Homeric saying:
A multitude of rulers is not a good thing. Let there be one ruler, one king
But I am inclined to disagree (or disinclined to agree?

), as most monarchs have gone through the path of devolution, and their existence is now merely a courtesy to them. I can think of far more harms that monarchy has done than benefits. I find it amusing when I hear people complain about nepotism and yet support monarchy
