I know Intel just dumped 8 billion to expand in Oregon and Arizona, Facebook and Google are looking to do the same. Silicon Valley went broke investing in stupid green tech just to come to terms with the fact that global output still outpaces demand by a ratio of 3:1. Now green companies are making a massive exodus from the state. Virtually all of LA's Aerospace industry has relocated to the east coast. Here is an interesting blog that has chronicled the relocation or expansion of Californian-based businesses outside of the state. It is a sad story of a state going bankrupt, even as they continue towards ideological purity.

Their governor(Jerry Brown) is legit but state workers, the unions (especially teachers unions) and the leftist / libertarian impulse of this state means that it wants all the benefits of a socialist country but no one wants to pay for it. Good luck Jerry Brown. It is ranked by business index after business index, and by small businesses as the worse economic climate to do business in.
