Why I dislike Jehovah's Witnesses. Shortly after moving into my apartment some two years ago. There was a knock at the door
I opened it and there stood a taller older man in a tacky suit with a bible in his hand. He began assertively asking to enter to do a bible reading with me. Repeatedly I asked him to leave. At one point he try to push passed me. I told him to wait there (outside) for a moment. Got my BOS (Book of Shadows) to clue him in on what my beliefs were. No sooner did he see the BOS
did he try to grab it from me calling it the words of Satan.

PS-Reps from the local JW church still pester me even when they see the semi large pentagram on my door.

Geeze! Does everyone in the world have to be Christian? Lighten up. Better yet get therapy.

I hate anyone going door to door they all seem pushy not just the JWs. I have signs beware of dog and no peddlers sign, which in my mind they fit into. If I see them coming I'll shut the door and not answer it. If I don't the dog ussaly does his thing he's big about 130lbs I pretend like I can't control him and it mostly makes them go away or avoid my house

I think if one of these people tries to push their way into your house and/or grab your book from you that you ought to be allowed to call the police on them. You may want to check that out. I think these people are starting to get more aggressive and I see that as a bad sign, for a lot of reasons.

I have considered making a sign for my door instructing people pushing religion and/or selling something not to knock. That was after an episode with a man selling cable TV. His sales pitch was "You are stealing cable." (Not true). I proceeded to show him the old cable wire that the lawnmower had mangled, to tell him "I don't watch TV, I read books." (True). Then I told him that he was invading my personal space so much that I could tell he needed a shower. (Also true). He has not been back.

If I believed in God, I would say, "God save us from rude, invasive people."

You shouldn't have answered the door in the first place.

hey yea that is one thing i hate too, them jehovahs pushing their religion on you, it seems in my area they seem to not know what no means!! they are soooooo gullible and dumb here they will knock on the door of a vacant commercial building.

heres my way of taking care of them, (you guys knowing me, the door doctor) what i did once when they used to show up every few days to every week. hiding, using the excuse, pretending to be busy didnt work. what i did was i grabbed for one of my old door hinges or a closer and when they knock i answer the window and i ask if they want me to come and interrupt them during their time with door repair.

this also used to happen with the later day saints (they do same thing door to door) that was every saturday too and once while playing basketball with some kids i then took a break and went to the auto body shop across street and i did same as i did with jehovahs. all accept i didnt have hardware with me.

no offense but it has worked soo far, i got them to a point were they are scared to walk down the dead end i live on fearing they will see the 54 year old door closer and me ask if they want me to teach them door repairs. this trick also works even better if there is a spare vehicle in driveway!

latest knock was by comcast offering cable tv (yuck) to satellite users. what i do there is tell the sad truth about differance between cable network and satellite. (its same thing accept the reciever box and dish is at a station duh!) reception is better with dish because you can change the transponder for higher signal strength.

last month verizon tryed pulling something similer, "are you happy with your internet" "we are offering verizon fios to its members" the down side of that is a hefty price, THEY have to enter the residence to install the cabling to back of computers. for like 54.0 mbps i know its some scam because tehy last year redid the lines and installed fibor optic on the poles to were its used by all and the high speed is turned on at station. they must think i was born yesterday

they dont relize that with verizon freedom with long distance you get the high speed fios quality of 54.0 mbps

i hope i have not offended anybody who believers in LDS or jehovah but its just my way of telling them i perfer that you do not visit im not interested.

Myself I have never had any problems with Jehovah Witnesses. Most that I have meet has been exceedingly nice and polite. In the rare occasions I had a visit from them going door to door I introduced myself and was polite and said no thank you and they left. Never once have I had a witness be anything except polite and kind. I don’t like people coming to my door in general but with them I know that I won’t get robbed. :D

Personally I can’t hold it against them for going door to door although I do admit at times I have seen people get over zealous but never rude or disrespectful. They do what they believe is right and how can any one fault them for that especially when there not hurting any one.

That’s my two cents. Most likely most will disagree but it doesn’t hurt to be polite to anyone except mean people we all know they suck.

P.S. I am sure it was not meant as a sweeping generalization but I believe that no one whole group can be gullible and dumb and maybe they feel it’s better to waste there time then to miss one single person. In my experience some people may have little guile but those are the one's with the biggest hearts.

Before I got my own house I lived in a apartment complex whith a very tight community. Whenever JW's had knocked on one door, a chain of telefone calls started up and down the block, warning that they were here and they found no one else at home.

I check to see if they are wearing a suite or tie and if so I don't answer the door. I can't think of any possible legitimate reason why someone with a suite or tie would have for visiting me :D

You think you've got it tough, these people were commanded by God to do this.

Has it occurred to you that maybe that's what attracts them?

I tell them I'm already a Jehovah's Witness (even though I actually follow a different religion). I've read up on the Jehovah's Witness basics, so I can lie to them convincingly. Since I already supposedly accepted their religion, there's no need for them so solicit me, so they promptly leave.

One person from that religion once solicited me at a shopping mall once. When I tried to make up an excuse and leave, he asked for a number, so he could "call me to talk more about the good news he had for me." I gave him the number of an escort agency, and promptly left, trying hard not to laugh.

If I see them coming, I put my dog out in the front yard. She barks, and they won't bother me.

If I have to answer the door, I just politely tell them I'm not interrested.

Back a few years ago, I used to terrorize the JWs. I'd answer the door unshaven in my boxers with a beer in one hand, and take breaks while talking to them to scream at random other people.

They knock. I open the door. After they've stopped talking, I simply tell them, "We're atheists."

And they'll laugh and go, "Is that right? Well okay." And they'll leave, just like that. The JW's I've come into contact with haven't been so bad--I disagree with them, maybe find them a little annoying, but they're not too terrible.

When JW's come to my door, I just tell them I think Jehova is a $hithead narcissist and I'm going to kick his ass in heaven. They usually leave without a word.
