Gets wearing putting these up as separate entries. Let me throw a collection of primarily religion focussed references into a single heap. Please feel free to suggest additions - though I would ask if you feel like an atheist / antitheist library start your own.

To begin:

Here you find biblical texts in a variety of versions and source languages; the search works well::

The Little Flowers - stories from the glory days of St Francis and his buds:

Richard Rolle, Middle English hermit - on the ecstatic side:

The Cloud od Unknowing - anonymous Middle English, heavy mysticism

Annie - unusual set of 20th century visions

Sir Thomas Browne - English cutting edge scientist and doctor from the 17th century

For a change of pace, this will lead to some of the Jataka tales.

The Christian Classics Ethereal Library - the go-to source for the writings of the Church Fathers, and other significant writers.

A tip of me titfer to Natty Boh -

and while we are speaking of Kallistos Ware, here the Philokalia:

which since it is not for the faint of heart on their first steps, you mnay want to start with The Way of a Pilgrim [http://www.amazon.com/Way-Pilgrim-Continues-His/dp/0060630175] which some have found valuable.

I have not found an online text yet. WORKING as the Enterprise computer used to say.

The Gospel of Thomas - posted in tribute to my sainted mother, who found it very interersting:

Of course, I would go for this version - I like to see the original, and Coptic is a great language:

http://gospel-thomas.net/gtbypage_112702.pdf

But for those NOT linguistically inclined, if you can't find a site to suit on THIS page: [http://www.earlychristianwritings.com/thomas.html] you ain't trying.

I didn't see this, but thank you! It has been a journey learning Genesis, I still have the daunting task of 4 more books with commentary to understand, accompanied by my slow learning of hebrew so the worry was that the talmud would be saved for another lifetime but I'm seeing that it will probably make a great accompanyment as I revisit Genesis (before coving Exodus.)

Try here as well or instead for Rumi - the translations are more direct and som of the Persian text is included, allowing for quality checking.
