What’s next for News Corp. and its worlds
by Jeff Jarvis

Quote:
There’s no telling how the News Corp. saga will turn out, but I’ll try. Here’s a scenario that leads to the breakup of News Corp., the Murdochs out of power, the deflation of institutional journalism, a break in the too-cozy media-government complex, an unfortunate rise in regulation of media, and a fortunate opening for newcomers. This story of legality and morality will quickly shift to one driven by business.

Via Erik Wemple of the Washington Post, the simply unbelievable Fox and Friends segment below. It's about the News of the World hacking scandal.

To the good: they treat hacking as a problem and scandal. To the incredible/bad: they present their (now closed) UK sister publication News of the World as a victim of the hacking problem, rather than as a perpetrator.

I did, but did you do any reading into who the author is.

@ pandabear

We all know liberals would like to come up with any excuse to shut down Fox News and silence anyone criticizing the leftist agenda.

I did not read it either but i have my doubts. UK journalism has a different culture than US journalism.

In the UK the journalists are expected to be hypercritical of the government and politicians expect to be asked hard questions.

In the US the journalists are expected to avoid topics that could offend the government and make it harder for their reporters to gain access to politicians, and politicians expect to be thrown scripted questions with easy answers.

It is also abundantly clear that there is no expectation of credibility among US journalists.

Aw, boo-hoo.

But, worry not. Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck will just revert to hate radio. You'll still be able to listen to these and similar idiots.

Sorry but Hannity and Beck aren't NPR, if you want to listen to Hate Radio, you'd be listening to NPR.

Sure, if your definition of a hard question is "Have you stopped raping little boys yet?"

So, tell me, inuyasha, have you stopped raping little boys yet?

1. I am still a virgin, yeah I'm actually one of those people that believe in waiting to have sex till after marriage.
2. I'm not interested in men or boys, I find that to be rather sick.

And to answer it the way you are asking me to would essentially be lieing or giving an impression that is factually incorrect putting it mildly, and I'm not stupid enough to fall for it.

Exactly. I mean, the definition of "rape" includes rape with a foreign object. For all we know he could still be sodomizing little boys with kitchen gadgets.
