It is perhaps the greatest accomplishment of man, that we may look upon ourselves and say that the freedoms granted to us by our creators - whether it be god or the laws of nature - pale in comparison to the freedom gained through the premotion of our own intellectual endeavors.

Whereas we have been granted with the freedom to walk, we have gained the freedom to drive across continents, to fly though the air across vast oceans. To visit places otherwise not possible to reach. Wheras we have been granted the freedom to talk, we have gained the freedom to talk to anyone on earth, with the push of a button.

Freedom, most succinctly, are all the things you can do, and the ease to which you can do them.

We owe many of our greatest freedoms to scientists, and we owe the ease to which we can access these freedoms to a system of individuals working with one another, a system of self interest we call the market.
