Lets look at these two facts:

a) Canada has some of the most severe laws against "hate speach"

b) Canada is one of the most lenient countries regarding saturatory rape

Putting these two together it seems like the Canadian message is "be who you are, just don't judge anyone else". Now, isn't this exactly what most aspies are asking for in this forum?

Not from what I've heard, at least if you're considering Ontario. Lots of issues with the healthcare system being antagonistic with autism issues.

Is it your opinion that aspies are a bunch of pedophiles?

I call shenanigans.

Isn't age of consent 16 in New York? Apparently they had a problem with 16 and 17 year-olds passing themselves off as mid-20-somethings hence a lot of people were getting hauled in and exonerated due to fake ideas and the judgment came that, a reasonable person still wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

That's at least one place where, if someone is in their mid 20's and a bit young at heart, they have a couple years extension on most other states in the US who have it at 18.

It is a great place for Socializers and Socialized, though.

And political indoctrination at Columbia.

Only familiar with Columbia University, but I see the almost annexed territory to the north has a Columbia College.

One might not be surprised - but then many US academic institutions are prime Socializatiob centers.

My own experience with Canadian universities and their staff is limited - nearly all have been American expats, and most have been pretty good and inclined to attend to business, which is probably part of why they had to flee this country.

But I imagine much of what is handed the undergrad is consistent with the qualities that make Toronto the Good what it is.

Lol, nm. I thought you were referencing my New York comment.

Is Canada the perfect place for aspies?

No, of course not. No place is perfect, and Canada has its flaws like any other place.

Is Canada the best place for aspies?

Well, here we might have some room for discussion. I tend to a certain degree of chauvinistic pride in my country, and I like to think that it is the best country in which to live. But I am also self-aware enough to know that some of that comes from the lack of familiarity with "how the world works" in other countries.

a) I don't approve of hate speech laws, period.
b) Makes it an attractive hunting ground for peds. No thanks!

I thought the state of Washington was supposed to be our mecca………

No it is not. If you want to work, then there's a huge Reserve Army of Labour set up by fiat by the ruling classes and they like their Reserve Army large here. They're inflation maniacs at the Bank of Canada. They're also very stingy with disability benefits here.

Canada has no laws regarding "hate speech." Those were found to be unconstitutional. They were replaced with criminalization of the "wilful promotion of hatred," which is a much narrower offence.

"Statutory rape" does not exist, and never has, in Canadian law. But our age of consent is 16 (14 if the parties are within 3 years of age of each other). Hardly active hunting grounds for peds. In fact we have some of the most aggressive law with respect to sex tourism and child pornography.

If you are going to paint with such a broad brush, at least be informed.
