I'm a Christian, not sure if I have AS or not, & I was just wondering, any other Christians with autism/AS here?

Not a traditionalist Christian but I have adopted quite a few of their ideologies.

I don't take a lot of the bible as seriously as a lot. I have my own views.

Namely, I view the creation mythos as god creating our souls or at least insofar as granting us the capability to have souls. Why else have we evolved and monkeys, those who share 99.9% of our DNA and form, not evolved?

I also view god as not good or evil...but neutral. No interference. Oh, he hopes that we choose him to love, but he isn't going to interfere since his greatest gift to us was choice. By showing himself, he abrogates our right to choose and thus, violates his neutrality.

I fully believe in Jesus because back then, greater things were needed to get the message across. These days sin is so rampant that we'd probably find jesus lying face down in a gutter with half his head blown away due to some gang-banger. So instead of making us choose, he let's us choose and thus, is far more poignant.

I also fully believe in Evolution since it fits in with my neutral god idea. I mean, which is more impressive and in line with God? Just making it all appear with a clap of his hands so to speak, or subtly guiding the evolution of a species over billions of years and doing it in such a way that his presence isn't even noticed.

You'd think the stereotypical, overly-logical thinking patterns associated with high-functioning Autistics would virtually rule out religiosity among them, but apparently not.

Some more than others, apparently.

Yep Im a Catholic Christian. Although I don't follow too much about it, I still believe there is a god.

Oh look another thread by a newbie, gee, I wonder how many other newbies will reply here after I post...

Yes, I'm a Christian, regardless of how much slander you can throw at me or how much garbage you can project about me from your psycho-babbling mouths. Even after all the invention of false evidence against me and all the filth you have said about me, I still remain one and you can't do a thing about it and that's one thing that really bothers you.

Auties and Aspies are just as capable of illogical thinking and feeling as are NTs. We are all primates from The Monkey House and we all have a human genome.

I'd think our logical thinking patterns would cause us to at least consider what may be the truth, no matter what religion it is. After all, everyone has a religion (a set of ideas we are committed to), even if we don't believe in a god.
By the way, it is possible to question something logically without stopping believing it.

I'm so close to the monkey house that I am only about two back hairs short of flinging my feces around.
