A. The quest of advanced education, materialism, attainment of wealth, status and financial security or.....
B. The quest for spirituality and the close connection to God.

I assume the majority of you would select A. A or B and your reason(s) why?

I can't imagine won't most people (except the extremely religiously devout) wouldn't choose "A." Spiritual closeness to God is not going to pay the bills or put bread on the table.

One can be spiritual and god-connected while being materially well off. The two alternatives are NOT mutually exclusive.

...Which is why he asked what is more important to you. Seems like you wisecrack for its own sake sometimes.

Anyways, I'm an atheist so I'll interpret B as a quest for deeper things like immaterial and non-status seeking fulfillment. Pondering is nice and all but survival is a bigger priority so I'll go for A.

I'd pick a third option.

A bare minimum of 'A' may be necessary for survival, but it is nowhere near sufficient in providing me happiness.

A, as B does nothing and is not rational.

It's the internet forum equivalent of a shell game.

A. The quest of advanced education, materialism, attainment of wealth, status and financial security or.....
B. The quest for spirituality and the close connection to God.

First, the second choice presupposes religiosity. There is a much wider range of "intagibles" that should fall within that alternative: love and happiness for example. If you posed the question as:

A. Money, or
B. Love,

you might find a very different set of results.

Sufficient money can buy much love.

To the above, -cues in the Beatles's song "Can't buy me love". Also, the love that is bought is not genuine, it is directed towards your money.

As for me, likely A, but without the materialistic wealth and status and all that it pertains, I'd be content with mostly education.

All love is bought.

Money is a stupid life objective. You should know that wealth actually turns to make people unhappy by itself.

Instead, the materialistic objective is personal accomplishment. It is still a material thing that has nothing to do with fairies and cupid. It is however, the key to happiness. A job that motivates you to do it and makes you feel you are doing something important. Power to do stuff. And the effect work has on you after finishing it successfully.

A. The quest of advanced education, materialism, attainment of wealth, status and financial security.

I can fake B as well as any Christian.

The universe is replete with useful irrationality. Take π for example.

π, while irrational, has been proven to exist. God, on the other hand, has not.
