With all of the hubbub about Media bias Liberal, Corporate etc. (they are not mutually exclusive)
Someone on this forum said that something to the effect of

Quote:
the Liberals don't even know they are biased

Which should be true as this is the nature of Bias.
the implication bothers me do Conservatives and more particularly Fox News Conservatives
know they are slanting the story and if so.
Is it Bias when you know what you are saying is wrong?

"Lying" is a form of bias.

When the Census Bureau does surveys, the Census Bureau knows that a lot of people are generally going to under-state their income, whether intentionally or unintentially. It is still regarded as "bias" in the results.

Weekend fishermen, and guys recounting their sexual history, are known for a bit of exaggeration. Maybe they are lying, but they are still going to give you a biased story.

I would say it is the bias that drives the manipulative or goal-oriented lie.

Is Survey bias ok for the news?
or should the reporter prune it down to cognitive Bias and even be on the watch for that?

Regarding our First Amendment

Quote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

It would appear that newscasters are free to lie, given that lying is a form of speech.

That assumes that they agree with you that what they are saying is wrong. It's far more likely that they are conscious of (even proud of) their bias but also feel that what they say is correct and the people they are biased against (consciously) are wrong.

Actually, Obama did pal around with terrorists, he started his state senate campaign in the home of an unrepentent domestic terrorist and the terrorists' wife whom was also a domestic terrorist.

Look up Weather Underground sometime.

So actually if someone chooses the other option, they aren't lieing nor is it a bias, and if you say it is lieing on their part, you are either being ill-informed or disingenious.

The President is obligated by the U.S. Constitution to recognize, and associate with (i.e.
"pal around"), such as self-identified, and/or openly supportive, individuals proclaiming
identity and/or beliefs with "domestic terrorist".

A prime example is U.S. Representive Wally Herger:

If you know what you're saying is wrong, then that's called being dishonest.

I don't what lieing is.
I know Bill Ayers personally he did not kill anyone.
the Weather Underground death toll is two of its own members
that died in a bomb-making accident after which the group broke-up went underground.
there are members of Bader-Mienhof -a terrorist group with a real death toll-
in the German parliament right now.
Bill is a good man that made some regrettable choices in his past
and is involved in advocacy for education today not terrorism.

Bill and Barry are not close and do not see each other socially, so the pal bit is a bit of a lie as well.

There's more than two sides to exploiting "Darkling Plain English".

Two very frequent forms of "Plain English" abuse are commonly labeled with phrases as being:

"Politically Correct", and,

"Ivory Tower Intellectual".

Non-Liberals use and apply these two phrases the more often, while also practicing both forms the more often. Then, Liberals seldom apply either phrase, while they tend to practice the first form, and use the phrases to respond back to being criticizingly labeled being both "Politically Correct" and "Ivory Tower Intellectuals" by Non-Liberals.

Liberals obfuscate issues with bias by claiming to remove "grammatical bias" through the demands of being "Politically Correct".

Non-Liberals do the same, but also while simultaneously spawning issues with bias by exploiting, and/or introducing, and then defending, the very opposite. Any act by any individual which notes this self-contradictory and simultaneous duality, is then grouped under that as of that of "Ivory Tower Intellectuals", which includes much else also of any knowledge inconvenient at any particular time to the Non-Liberal.

The atrocious acts involved seek defense under the mantle of "Plain English", much as crime seeks the darkness of night for protection from the light of justice. When this fails, ignorance is claimed to be the result of intelligence, as in the common phrase "Bush received bad intelligence".

You do realize the "did" is past-tense.

Anyways I suggest you read the following:
"When I was 9 years-old the Weather Underground, the terrorist group founded by Barack Obama's friend William Ayers, firebombed my house. Barack Obama has dismissed concerns about his relationship with Ayers by noting that he was only a child when Ayers was planting bombs at the Pentagon and the U.S. Capitol. But Ayers has never apologized for his crimes, he has reveled in them, expressing regret only for the fact that he didn't do more.

"While Barack Obama once downplayed his relationship with Ayers, today his campaign took that deceit one step further. Barack Obama now denies he was even aware of his friend's violent past when, in 1995, Ayers hosted a party launching Obama's political career. Given Ayers' celebrity status among the left, it's difficult to believe. The question remains: what did Obama know, and when did he know it? When did Obama learn the truth about his friend? Barack Obama helped Ayers promote his book in 1997, served on charitable boards with him through 2002, and regularly exchanged emails and phone calls with him through 2005. At what point did Barack Obama discover that his friend was an unrepentant terrorist? And if he is so repulsed by the acts of terror committed by William Ayers, why did the relationship continue? Any honest accounting by Barack Obama will necessarily cast further doubt on his judgment and his fitness to serve as commander in chief.

"Barack Obama may have been a child when William Ayers was plotting attacks against U.S. targets -- but I was one of those targets. Barack Obama's friend tried to kill my family."

Bad Nice Guys versus Nice Bad Guys

Hi Inuyasha,

Did you write a letter to any Conservative, or at least to Conservapedia-dot-com, and maybe anyone else that might "listen", about President Ford giving it the more???:
"Durant received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1977 from President Gerald Ford."
To a person with a self-confessed record of socializing as close friends with a person displaying the introduction "to his majesty, Death": "With this little black box you solve all your problems. You never have to pay the landlord again, you never have to drag your weary body to the shop again,... ... One bomb will educate faster than a hundred schools"
From pages 200-218, "I Am Blown Up" Chapter III: "Transition: a sentimental story of one mind and one era" By Will Durant (1927).

@inuyasha, I think it's hilarious that you quoted a source that holds Ayers to be a liberal celebrity.
