Ok a bit of background: I am currently an agnostic was raised a Christian. Not particularly taking a side here I just thought this was a hilarious thing to put into one of those mass-fowarded "inspiring" emails that religious people like to send.

It was all about a dying baby who was miraculously revived by the loving song of her little brother = a miracle of god, etc etc. Then at the end in a giant font is this gem:

'The evidence of God's presence far outweighs the proof of His absence.'

Really? Proof of his absence?? Not a good word to use when you're trying to advocate for his existence.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It is fair to point out that the article was likely written by fundies for fundies, just as it is also fair to claim that most fundies have no idea how reason and logic actually work.

I guess they meant that the "proof" for his existence outweights the "evidence" for his nonexistence, and they just mistakenly flipped the words "proof" and "evidence".

That's called "Fallacy of Equivocation".
