Pagan is an umbrella term used for non-Abrahamaic religions by some definitions. You would have to identify which pagan religion in particular you want to know about

In school we learned about the Greek Gods and even the Norse Gods. But not the Celts.
But there is well illustrated site I stumbled upon devoted the Celtic Gods- both those of the Gauls of France and the Celts of the British Isles. As rich a bunch of characters as those of Olympus and of Valhalla.

But if you're looking for precursers of Christianity thats a different type of research.

But paralell's and possilbe precursers of christian beliefs are to be found in various local paganisms. Egypt especially. There is a recent book devoted to pagan Egyptian paralells to the Gospels ( "Heaven in Egypt"- something like that).
