http://www.talisman.org/quizzes/robin-h ... lity.shtml

read the story, pick the 4 characters from most moral to least moral, then get an interpretation of your morality.

you can paste the interpretation in a post if you like. i tried to include a poll but there were too many possible combinations. also you can discuss your choices if you want...

the percentages below are the proportion of people who agreed with your results in a survey. i think that showing the percentages may skew people's choices, but i included them because it's so interesting.

RH=Robin Hood, LJ=Little John, MM=Maid Marion, SN=Sherriff of Nottingham

most moral to least moral
RH, LJ, MM, SN (5%)
RH, LJ, SN, MM (2%)
RH, MM, LJ, SN (4%)
RH, MM, SN, LJ (2%)
RH, SN, MM, LJ (2%)
RH, SN, LJ, MM (3%)

LJ, RH, MM, SN (6%)
LJ, RH, SN, MM (2%)
LJ, MM, RH, SN (15%)
LJ, MM, SN, RH (10%)
LJ, SN, MM, RH (3%)
LJ, SN, RH, MM (1%)

MM, LJ, RH, SN (13%)

RH, MM, LJ, SN

Quote:
Your philosophy of life is a sad hotchpotch of the conventions of society, your own convictions and romanticism. You are not unkind, only staid and unimaginative.

Women: You resent the arrogance of men.

EDIT: cleaned up the post

LJ, MM, RH, SN (15%)

Quote:
You are fairly broadminded romantic and reasonably contented. You value kindness greatly and try to live by your ideals. You do not conceal from yourself, or from others, your strong need for security, which may be either emotional or material.

Women: Your experiences of men have not all been happy, perhaps because you hope for a little too much?

not wanting to be raped or called a slut makes me overly optimistic towards men?

You have a confused, immature sense of values. You are erratic and stubborn, and inclined to get angry or sulk when you don't get your own way, but at least you are not a moral hypocrite.

Men: "Love 'em and leave 'em" is the motto of a man who is basically afraid of women.

poppycock.

You are the slightly romantic realist. You respect truth, and are broadminded and flexible. Whether you are a man or a woman you are probably a happy person. You like people and they can readily make friends with you. You are not very adventurous, but this does not bother you.

Test is pretty silly though. There were two equally immoral characters in the story. Couldn't really figure out how to rank them.

I only wish that I was happy but this is only for entertainment purposes.

Robin Hood was the most immoral and apethetic person on the planet. He deserved to be captured.

I think the reason is because you put LJ over MM. I did the same but on second thought it could go either way. I mean, LJ hasn't actually done anything heroic. MM is the one who saved the two. LJ is just going along for the ride.

MM, LJ, SN, RH (10.6%)

Quote:
You are essentially a contented person, even if you consider yourself a little superior. You are moral by your own standards, for you believe that morality is what best suits the occasion.

Men: You are sexually uninhibited, more romantic than you may appear, and more dependent on the approval of others than you care to admit.

That's so true :) Of course I'm reading it like this:

Image

My morality is indeed a bit fluid. I'm with Groucho Marx when he said: "Those are my principles, and if you don't like them... well, I have others."

PS: The reason that I ranked the Sheriff over Robin Hood is that he's simply an opportunist in this story. The test asked me to forget any preconceived ideas about the characters. So in this story, the Sheriff is a law enforcement officer who incarcerates two people who I must assume to be criminals. So far so moral. When Marion begs him, he sees a chance to spend a night with her and seizes it. Despicable, yes. But somehow understandable to me, much unlike Robin's behavior.

That would be:
Quote:
You claim to be a realist or even a cynic, but you are more emotional, romantic, and truthful.

Men: Although you are by no means inhibited, your amorous adventures are as much a matter of fantasy as fact.

Oh, I see you already posted your result earlier on. I didn't see your first post, sorry :) I didn't want to correct you, I thought you had forgotten to copypaste the interpretation.

I put MM last, and was then insulted. I don't like this test. I do not see how it is fun.

We would expect you to be a happy, well-balanced person who likes people and is liked by others. You question whether many conventional views on morality are valid under all circumstances.

Men: Do we detect a sense of chivalry and idealism under the sophistication?
