Take the test and see where you stand in politics. This one of the best tests on the Internet IMO.

http://www.politicalcompass.org/index

Economic Left/Right: -8.88
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -9.08

I'm on the extreme left in otherwords

It looks like I am very capitalistic but don't have a major opinion on many social issues.

Hmmn I got:

Economic Left/Right: -4.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.15

I answered honestly, it seems I'm much further left than I believed.

I'm right near where the dalai lama is placed apparently.. how strange!

Interesting however.

K, amusingly enough, right as I start taking this thing, my playlist cycles over and what comes on? Rage Against The Machine - Take The Power Back....so, I got a little uppity on the corporate/free-market questions.

So, here's mine

Economic Left/Right: -6.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79

That test seems biased to the left, particularly on the left-right spectrum. I'm fairly right-wing, but when I took it I got branded a leftie!

They claim that it is equally biased. I really don't know though as I am not a lefty and cannot take the test from their view. I just know that on some of the questions I simply view what is being said as either a false dichotomy or a mischaracterization of my side of political philosophy.

I forgot to write my result down :x - blame my AS - but it was about -8 and -9.

Some of the things on that site are questionable. Like their positions for Hitler and Stalin. Were they really rightwing and leftwing? I figure neither of them really gave a damn about rightwing or leftwing politics, they were basically just authoritarians and political doctrines were just a means for them to achieve and maintain power.

Giving positions for classical composers strikes me as just plain ridiculous. How could you possibly guess what answers they might have given?

No question the test is not fair. The way questions were worded like

....corporations should be allowed to do whatever they want.....(not a direct quote)
now very few people would support . Like maybe 1% of the population.

All question should be worded in such a way around 50% of the population might
support it.

Like this:

....free enterprise with limited government regulation is the most effecienct means to
increase the living standards of people....

I strongly agree with that. :D
