during the 30 years of pervasive loneliness that one might call a life i have raised many questions about the world in which we live. this relentless demand on my intellect has left me a prisoner of my own ideas; unable to cope with the social rules that make sense only to those who accept them as facts of life.

out of this i have made the distinction that there are people and there are human beings.

people are in denial about being human beings and human beings, with great difficulty, have accepted their membership in the species.

the denial of people results in control mechanisms erected to compensate. these are social rules and institutions of all orders of magnitude. it is an ancient coping mechanism. it has its roots in the world being hoisted on a turtle's back and other such myths created to give the wonderers an answer for the nonsensical insanity of being a person. it also give this idea of personhood validation in a cosmology where people can gain meaning for their lives. this allows the people who control the dominant institutions to maintain some semblance of order in an orderless world. conformity, social pressure, efficiency, speed, and fear are all the tools of people.

in contrast, humans, accept their fate and form. they have no compensatory mechanisms. unity with the divine within them is their primary nature as they recognize themselves as being parts of, and simultaneously one with, nature. Their education is long. they must struggle with many questions and training in order to achieve their humanity especially in this age of so much information where there is so much to know. people only serve to make this quest that much more difficult seeing as they are in the majority and have controlled the world for so long. humanity believes in going slow, truth, love, and the value of uniqueness.

so, that is what i have so far . . . thanks for reading.

By your definitions I am a person. I am an individual that seeks his own ends in this society of people in order to get some of the things that most people want. I do not see myself as being one with nature and do not have great philosophical goals but rather tend to see myself as a bit of a pragmatist.

despite what the wiki says . . . i have my own ideas.

i think to create the abstraction of personhood in the vein of locke is why the world is the way it is, why religions are the way they are, and why there is not a unified cosmology that is commensurate with modern advances in science. . . locke is pushing 300 years old. . . didnt even have electricity back then . . .

I seek to deal with my myself first and formost but I'm quite intelligent and I'd call myself a human.
