As I hope most of you politics obsessed aspies are aware, Iran was recently reported to the UN security council in response to its recent continuation of its nuclear enrichment programme. My question what do you think should be done, and what do you think will be done?

I'd put Sean in charge complete with several ICBMs. 200 kt air-bursts in strategic locations to avoid too much damage to the oil producing infrastructure.

Iran is a terror state.

The facility should be taken over if a solution is not found and the region and its people put in harms way. The U.N can contract the operations of the facility for energy reasons. The U.S needs no part in it, we already pay for enough securities for the world.

Should let the EU invade them instead of US.

Sort of like Russia and Afghanistan? That didn’t work out to well. Besides socialist are wimps but of course not all of the E.U is socialist.

well they are developing a nuclear program AND they told the world they want to ainnilate Israel.....

Im doin the math here, but I think if some one stops them now, like BEFORE they have the means (if its nottoo late) to detonate a nuke they wont....

We only hope that the EU would.

If they get and then are willing to use them it for sure World War III .

Let's see... The USA is the only nation that has used a nuclear device against another nation and we get to decide who else gets the technology? Nevermind how we look the other way while Israel has it and hasn't been inspected by anyone from the outside in decades? I don't get it.

That is becuase it was WWII and the folks who attacked us made a mistake.. Who would you have rather have won WWII?

How many more Americans would have had to die saving the world from hitler (not are war) or the japs?

If the U.S.A was that bad, it would have used them many times. IT does not, it goes to show how much better we are and nations like us.

Heres what i think the US ruling elite should do if they actually wanted to stop terrorism (which i dont believe for a second); stop using the world as a toilet for a few years, then there wouldnt be half as many terrorists.

Ive seen clips (on BBC documentaries) of the recruitment videos for Islamic terrorism (what you might erroneously call 'Al-Quaida' ). These unpleasnt videos are edited in such a way to take a relatively normal young man
and over the course of 5 hours or so exposure make him so disturbed and emotionally overwhelmed he is willing to kill. Guess which nations atrocities star in the tape....

Sure... I think it's time the U.S people stop helping the world and help itself only.

The rest can deal with it's own hells, tax payers pay enough and many families have lost loved ones just for people like you.

I suppose england would have just been taken over in WWII. Oh well..

No, I do not like FOX news and am more so democrat. Also I watch T.V maybe once a week and not much radio.. Maybe put it on once a month.

Im baffled - which examples in that hyperlink constitute 'helping the world' exactly, because i interpreted the gist of it to be quite the opposite. & obviously you must have read through the link, because otherwise you wouldnt have been able to dismiss it without looking predujiced...

byw being reluctantly forced into an inevitable conflict over 60 years ago does not give you cart-blanche, so dont even try it. The world was a very different place then.
