This is a big deal because you know they hate Jews.

Of course, the most famous and celebrated Hungarian Jew is George Soros. A very good man, who is similarly vilified by America's right wing.

It's pretty sad that antisemitism like this still exists in the world. It's scary to think what this economic crisis might bring in Europe.

Jobbik now joins the British National Party (BNP) as members of the Alliance of European National Movements (AENM Wikipedia link) who have or had Jewish members.

Yup - but Jobbik are far and away the most electorally popular member of that group. Jobbik have three MEPs and 47 elected representatives in their national parliament, the Országgyűlés. The BNP have two MEPs and no MPs in the House of Commons, though this is due to our IMV very unfair and slanted FPTP system. Given that they get a decent number of votes (nearly 2%) I'd say they should at least get around 12 MPs or so. UKIP would probably end up with around 20 MPs but I suspect that the real total would be a lot more than that if we got a decent PR system.

Jobbik look like a nasty bunch, for sure, but don't for any moment think that this kind of Jew-hatred is limited solely to Jobbik in Hungary. Elements of FIDESZ are also quite antisemitic as it goes.

BNP notwithstanding its Jewish members has an antisemitic track record.

I don't often agree with your politics but if I lived in north-west England
I would propose that we eat a meal together on a monthly basis in food

Just like the Italian and Irish anti-immigration folks in the states.
Stormfront the White nationalist version of Wrongplanet has rules against Irish and Italian bashing
even though that was the primary pastime of the spiritual forefathers. It is like they are following PC trends just
a couple of generations behind the curve. I look forward to the inevitable future when Black Americans can join the KKK. :lol: I laugh but I am earnestly looking forward to it.

It's not necessarily surprising that this Jobbik guy is an Antisemite despite his own Jewish roots - Hitler and Heydrich had gone to extreme measures to hide their own Jewish ancestry.

I don't know about Heydrich but the straight dope calls it bunk or bunkish.

Actually, a documentary on the History Channel had dealt with this subject: a DNA test had been performed in very recent years on one of Hitler's living American relatives - - and the result revealed that Hitler's family had had both Jewish and North African ancestry.
I agree that the story about Hitler's illegitimate grandfather being Jewish was a load of crap, but in his family tree, the name Solomon - doubtlessly Jewish - can be found. And as he had ordered his hometown to be shelled - in particular the hall of records - after the Anschlus with Austria, it's a good bet that he himself was aware of his family Jewish connection.
Regarding Reinhard Heydrich - there had always been the assumption that his mother's family had had a Jewish background. A fact that no one ever let him forget, as he was bullied as a child for his Semitic appearance. There was an old story about how Heydrich and other SS officers were turning in after a hard night of drinking, when they heard the shout from his room, "Die you Jew looking bastard," followed by a gun shot. Rushing in, the SS men found Heydrich slumped over with gun in hand, before a shot out mirror.
