According to this video, Americans don't have to file a tax return.
I wonder if it is true of UK. Anyway if you are a salary man in the UK
they take it before you get it. Blood sucking reds.

You need to check the relevant legislation.

In Canada, there are circumstances in which you are compelled to file an income tax return. These might include: when claiming a refund of taxes remitted; when remitting the balance of taxes owing; when claiming any tax benefit such as the HST credit or the child tax credit; in the year of death by the executor of a deceased person; or whenever ordered to do so by the Canada Revenue Agency.

The powers of HM Revenue and Customs are likely similar, but may have somewhat different application based on the enabling legislation.

In America if you make less than a certain amount of yearly income- basically the equivalent of working a full time job for a year at minimum wage (whatever minimum wage happens to be at a given time) then you don't have to file an income tax return ( whether you DOWN have to I don't know- I don't know what the phrase "down have to" means Lol). But thats a very a low income minority of people(the vast majority have to file). And in america even the minimum wage earners get tax withheld from their paycheck before they file (or dont file).

Well it depends, you can not file a tax return if you want, but most places you work for will automatically deduct taxes, and by not filing, you're not eligible for any income. Also most places just make you fill out the tax forms as a condition of employment. Sure, you could just be like "I am using civil disobedience to not fill out my forms" and then they'll fire you. By the way, not filling out forms might make you get an audit from the IRS. And most people would rather fill the forms out and pay taxes over getting an audit.

That is the classic line used by the "freeman on the land" and "sovereign citizen" movements.

It is purely pseudolegal woo. Not paying taxes is against the law.

If you make less than the minimum, and don't file, you're a fool. If you've had taxes withheld, you've probably overpaid, and you'll miss out on your refund; if you haven't, then you probably owe, and the IRS will come after you with a vengeance.

Contrary to some pseudo-populist bullstuff websites, income taxes are legal in the United States; this has been upheld by the Supreme Court, and is thus the law of the land until such time as Congress passes new legislation. (Of course, most of those sites also refuse to recognize the legitimacy of the Supreme Court, Congress, and in some extreme cases the entire US Government...)

If you don't pay your taxes you get fined and/or go to jail.

These same people that make such anti-tax arguments usually go to jail.

Unless you want to go to jail, just let the government steal your money.

It is a constitutional amendment, its is legal for congress to do it and You WILL be punished if you dont file/pay it

i was going to say that this is the freeman on the land thing, but nominalist beat me to it. there have been a few threads discussing it before, it's basically nonsense. you'll find people trying to make such arguments all over the internet, indulging in pure sophistry and posting nonsensical youtube videos of people rambling nonsense in court and arguing with police that generally prove nothing other than the concept being nonsensical in itself.

but why would you want to wear it if you think reds are bloodsuckers? for ironic reasons?
