Do you have a religion?

I have never known a religious person with AS. I'm sure they exist, but I find it completely impossible to believe in a God. I would like to be able to, people seem to feel better when they follow a religion, it gives them hope and morals and promises a good life after death, as long as you can follow the rules. But I am curious, do people with AS generally find it more difficult to believe in a God? Is it because we tend to follow logic rather than emotion? What do you think?

I have my own religion. It's complicated. I normally say I'm an atheist.

I'm a syncretic polytheist; but not really, it's just an imaginary mode I use. If I go for a walk late at night, I pray to Tezcatlipoca; if I'm in some sort of verbal confrontation (with bureaucracy for instance) I think of Eris; stuff like that. Just mental imagery, really.

No I don't have a religion purely for the fact it would go against some of my principles.

As atheism is a belief about the supernatural that can't be proven, atheism should be counted as a religion.

I'm meandering all over the place spiritually. I kind of like Buddhism as a guide to a way of living(undecided on Reincarnation though it's a fascinating idea). I have started exploring Taoism and picked up a copy of the Tao Te Ching. I find some of the verses in there interesting.

I've also been interested in Pandeism(or Pantheism?) and equating the Universe as God, though this would be an impersonal God. Or a Clockwork Universe God. This kind of makes me think of my still limited exposure to the idea of Tao.

In short maybe I'm just Agnostic.


Eventually I'm interested in learning more about Humanism.

I'm Catholic. I do believe in God and in no ways am I perfect but I try to "follow" it as best as I can.

I've decided to make up my own gods and worship them.

Kaetho—Sky god. Born from creation. (Destroyed)
Vego—God of Justice and slaves. Born from creation.
Thantos—God of the Underworld and the dead. Born from creation.
Shato—God of love. Son of Thantos and Egro.
Egro—God of the elements. Born from creation.
Hagro—God of war and slaughter. Born from creation.

I was rasied Roman Catholic but I never believed a word of that nonsense. I stopped attending mass at 17 and then tried various other religions in college inclusing Islam, Judiaism, Deism plus the various forms of paganism.

I agree with many of the precepts of Buddhism, but I consider myself an Atheist who supports Secular Humanism.

Born and raised Catholic but Atheist from birth. Fortunately my love of ancient history, reading and attention to detail when combined with the will to as awkward questions soon got me out.
