I think Peter Joseph is really intelligent and has amazing speaking skills, Tell me what are all your thoughts on it.

I think his research is laughably poor, that his conclusions are at best enormous stretches and at worst outright paranoid insanity, and that I've seen much better conspiracy theorists in the world.

If you're into that scene, though, check out a book titled Everything is Under Control, by Robert Anton Wilson. It's an awesome book, easy to read, and covers everything from conspiracies that have actually been prosecuted (Iran-Contra, P2) to the clearly and obviously insane (to the point where even the author can only mock them) and everything in between.

The Zeitgeist film was excellent. I loved the way it was put together and yes he has good speaking skills. I don't think he is paranoid but people can pick holes in what he is saying. I just think he is trying to make a statement and its the statement that matters not the details.

Why worry about conspiracies when there's reality?

I like most of their RBE ideas. But people like Michael Reynolds actually go out and implement ideas similar to this. I think the Zeitgeist Movement is inspiration only.

well michael reynolds is a bit of a joke. resource based economy has been ripped apart numerous times on this forum by people from all over the political spectrum. the zeitgeist films appear to be some sort of propaganda vehicle to get people to join the zeitgeist cult.

How does this reflect poorly on Michael Reynolds. His earthship design makes housing more sustainable and reliable. Sure he looks like a slob, but his actions speak otherwise.

they don't really. wasn't he being sued left and right and eventually struck off before arguing that his designs were experimental and not meant to be functional? apart from anything else, he posits himself as some sort of radical, yet he copyrighted his designs and terminology and sold them exclusively to the rich. probably right to bring him up here, as it's just as naive and politically ignorant as the zeitgeist movement.

this is my understanding from having briefly studied architecture years ago, feel free to correct me if i'm mistaken.

I knew his earlier designs had problems, I didn't know how much he'd been sued over them, or that he lost his license for 17 years. I've known that other builders have modified his designs to avoid leaking.

I'm not sure what to tell you, I've watched countless hours of people living in and working on earthships, Ive seen tropical plants growing in them with snow on the ground outside. His concept works, he just made a lot of mistakes getting there.

He has a poor track record of compensating customers for his bad designs, but a good track record for improving them. The end result is that people like me have better information on what does or doesn't work should I decide to build one myself.

I would agree. I've met him as well. Pretty cool bloke. one of the things that's often said about him is that he hardly ever stumbles on his words. Coz he's so well versed in what he's saying he really is that confident. Some may say that TZM and the proposal of an RBEM is a crock, however despite all the bile and attempts at refutations its received, it still stands.

In fact, that is why I've posted another thread here asking for people to pose their best arguments against it. I mean, if it has been "ripped apart" so easily, then surely its easy to refute.

I think this Image sums up the problem with the Zeitgeist movement.

A lot of its stuff on the Federal Reserve seems to be taken directly from The Creature From Jekyll Island.

Unfortunately--or perhaps fortunately--his message is entirely lost in the medium. He ought to have paid more attention to Marshall McLuhan.

His original film is such a laughable aggregation of conjecture, assumption, half-truth and outright nonsense that one cannot take his message with any degree of credulity. No matter how elegant or sincere his beliefs, he is forever damned by his first effort.

Zeitgeist is conspiracy-theorist BS. There's a lot of s**t that the US Government and multinational corporations can be charged with, but collaborating to create a global dictatorship is not one of them.
