Sometimes I wonder if whether it's a good or a bad thing that we don't enforce the rule of PPR (Post Proof or Retract) in the PPR forum.

If we suddenly did, this forum would turn into a ghost town overnight.

It's really funny how we all love freedom of speech as applied to ourselves and those who agree with us, but have so much trouble exercising it when we have to apply it to others.

Opinions. We've all got 'em and they all stink.

Accept mine. 8)

Everybody is entitled to their own opinions; nobody is entitled to their own facts.

Eh, I think a lot of us would just go back to how we started posting when we first came to PPR, which was the more long form and source heavy type of debate. After so many two line brush offs and detailed replies to people who clearly aren't serious, not to mention endless games of "whack-a-source" a lot of us have given up on the more intellectually rigorous styles of posting in favor of more snark and rhetoric. Now whether going back would be in improvement to the forum is debatable, as the looser style is definitely more fun for the most part, and *usually* helps keep things relatively light.

Are you asking for acceptance or exception? I don't know you well enough to know if you confused accept and except. I don't think you did... :? This is where the Grammar Not-see leaps up and shouts "[whatever the German equivalent of "See? That's why I do it!" is]. I guess there's a bad pun there either way, though, now that I think about it.

Cet "link" n'etais pas necessaire. Je parle Francais. I just can't spell in it or remember what's masculine or feminine or fiddle around with finding the keyboard things for all the accent marks.

Nope. In fact, Cajuns scare me, for some reason. I learned French from my mom's opera records because I got obsessed with Carmen and The Tales of Hoffmann when I was 9 or 10 years old. I can still sing the Seguedilla.

But it also seems that to ignore the two-line brush offs is to be a troll. Or at least in my case, many of my comments are considered a form of trolling, so since I don't have the benefit of the doubt, and a few others are in my position, we don't have a choice but to answer two-line brush offs.
