He plays into the hands of the anti-gun crowd with that analogy as they like to say that the gun lobby sees their guns as being tied with their virility and that taking away their guns really is like castrating them.

Looks to me like he's speaking out AGAINST an "assault weapon" ban.

This merely reinforces the fetishization of firearms.

I won't argue that firearms make someone powerful in a certain instance; after all, bullies ain't going to bully a person who's armed. Powerful is something people fear. It's why you'll never see the police and military hand their firearms in.

I don't understand why people associate it with masculinity, sexuality and/or phallic identity, however. In a way, a firearm removes any physical bias people have, and makes the playing field equal for all sexes.

Because you know that I am the one who propounds that thesis in this forum.

And so far, I have seen not one shred of evidence to suggest that my thesis is incorrect.

You may not like to hear this, you might well hold a contrary opinion. But merely snarling at my words will not contradict them. There are a substantial number of people in your country who treat firearms as objects of devotion, and treat the Second Amendment as an earlier generation would have treated Holy Writ.

A textbook example of a fetish.

I remember in Dirty Harry when Scorpio is disarming Callaghan and comments on how his famous Magnum is "oh, what a big one you have" or something like that... it's all over the place, this tying one's weapon to one's manhood and yes having a bigger gun is like having a bigger penis.

He is making an analogy. He clearly states that at 00:34 if you'd actually watched the video.
Do really we need to resurrect Mr. Rogers to explain to you all what an analogy is?

Is the birthrate higher in Chicago than in the rest of the state? Is castration really the solution?

Illinois' birth rate is actually at its lowest since 1933

Mr. Sacia makes a lot of noise, but doesn't know a damned thing about what he is shouting about.

That's getting slightly off topic. Nobody disputes that everything monarchies do is subconsciously (or overtly) phallic.
