She just seems like another Sociologist guru type that'll mess with your head.

Here lectures seem to be typically a bit long for a forum topic, as she weaves together a lot of different ideas. Usually, we need something a bit more specific about which to argue.

I've never come across a feminist who could speak or write as well as she does. In comparison, most Feminists seem almost as dumb as Sarah Palin or any of the Fox News chicks.

(present company excepted, of course).

Now I 've gone back and watched some more of her lectures. She is a tad long-winded, but brilliant. Well worth a listen.

Here's a transcript, available here. Here's a taster (I've been banned from posting the whole thing, so you'll have to read it there):

Quote:
[size=13]Hi everybody, I'm GirlWritesWhat and I hope the title doesn't put everybody off but someone commenting on my last video scoffed at my assertion that unless our attitudes change, society will, sooner or later, reach a...well, let's call it a "fempocalypse". That is, that feminism will eventually help bring about an economic and social collapse.

Many people are simply unable to wrap their heads around that idea, because we've all been told, ad nauseum, that feminism is a cause of prosperity, when in reality, it is largely--perhaps entirely--a consequence of it.

I mean, let's consider patriarchy, or to put it another way, the social contract of marriage and fatherhood. This system benefitted all parties in a world of largely manual labor (much of it, since the agricultural age, beyond the physical capabilities of women). Remember that we are also a species whose offspring have one of the longest periods of complete helplessness and immobility of any on earth, and whose maternal parent lactates to provide nourishment to offspring for up to four years]

Thanks for that. Now, what are we going to argue about?

The Feminists seem to feel quite threatened by this chick, and don't know how to respond, other than by labeling her a misogynistic troll.

Feminism, as it generally is now, is not really the exact equivalent of egalitarianism. Let's be honest, the focus for feminism is, and has always been. about women's rights. Check the name one more time. Whatever benefits men may get from feminism being applied is coincidental and a sort of side-effect.

I admire the historical movement of feminism. But today, even though there are still some noble causes to fight for within the current feminist movement, there are other causes that are just plain silly and disturbing that many of these same feminists are fighting for. For example, the drama concerning the "objectification" of female scientists is just plain silly and histrionic.

Of course, I'm not even including the radical feminism that promotes female superiority. I'm speaking of the feminism as commonly fought for by many feminists in this forum.

There is a development of an increasingly illiberal, counterrevolutionary and authoritarian 'feminism' too that wants to take away women's sexual rights.

Can a woman be indeed a misogynist?

Seems paradoxical to me.

Misandry. Now thats a hatred of men.

There are Jew-hating Jews in this world. A woman who hates women doesn't seem like a paradox to me.
