The £48m handed out in foreign aid the Government KNEW would be wasted
  • Cash spent with four organisations ranked poor for value for money
  • Aid spending rising to 0.7 per cent of GDP while other departments face cuts
  • Nearly half of aid budget spent funding activities of multilateral organisations
Millions of pounds of taxpayers’ money are being funnelled through international aid agencies identified by the Government as hugely wasteful.

MPs found the Department for International Development spent £48million last year with four organisations ranked poor for value for money in its own internal audit.

It means vast sums are being sent directly to agencies even though officials know much of it will be squandered.

Again, shocking and disgraceful but not at all surprising.
