I love studying the topic of gender and the roles that accompany it. Throughout my research, I came across an interesting blog: http://malefemininitygenderrolereversal ... 5f52032663

The creator and author of this blog endorses flipping the gender roles completely around, where women become masculine and wear men's clothes only, while at the same time, men become feminized and submissive and can only wear women's clothing. He also proposes that feminine men conform to all the constraints and restrictions that were imposed on women of the past, such as beauty standards, ladylike attitude, and conforming to the role of housewife. He even suggests that mothers slip estrogen into their son's diet to feminize their bodies and behavior.

While I'm not a fan of gender roles at all, this idea seems very extreme and doesn't seem that much different than how people today try to force traditional gender roles on others in today's society. Also, this author seems confident that within the next fifty years, this role reversal will happen.

Would the physical and hormonal differences between men and women prevent such a radical shift from occurring, or is the upbringing of boys and girls completely based in nurture, and therefore, this change is possible with certain parents at the helm?

I personally think an androgynous future is possible, but a complete role reversal seems impossible, considering the basic differences between the sexes that would make it difficult.

Give me your thoughts.

Androgyny looks to be on the rise.
Leaving that aside, there are differences in the personalities of souls that take male bodies for incarnation and the souls that take female bodies for incarnation.
The differences in expressive ability between the genders become a reason in their own for a certain soul's preference.
Put it another way, would you want a body of the opposite gender?
Not a way in hell!

So no special treatment for ladies, no gentlemen-like courtesies, and women must learn to favor submissiveness in men rather than confidence and leadership. Are all feminists ready for that?

Its the rest of us who aren't ready for that.

You haven't been torn a new one for just paying a lady a compliment?

Nah, not really. At least not yet. I've been slapped for insulting, though.

On the topic of gender reversal, I have found most women to be more comfortable with expressing aggression than men.

Yes...?

I don't think flipping gender roles would work. Too much inertia to start with, then you have to deal with the reason the gender roles are the way they are in first place (watch the Fempocalypse video). If the women went out to work and the men stayed home, society would collapse - perhaps not immediately, but after several decades of women being unable to take time off to have children... that's the reason the man has usually been the breadwinner, so that the woman can actually take the opportunity to reproduce, benefiting everyone.

Yes- for starters - vicious gangs of women should start prowling at night and start ambushing a raping unescorted men!

Shoot the victims up with viagra if necessary - and then drag them off into the bushes and force the hapless men to perform on the women. Its nasty- but you have to set an example.

Then men will stop moving around unescorted during certain times and places, and will need special protection.

It would be nasty- but a necessary first step toward this role reversal thing.

But I would volunteer to be a martyr for the cause.

You ladies can gang rape me if you want.

You sure? Have you seen some of the women who would form such girl gangs... it wouldn't be much different from a guy doing it...

Prolly right.

The gang doing the gang raping in my imagination is a team of cheerleaders. The reality might be something else.

A complete role reversal is not going to happen. Men are genetically larger and stronger than women on average. That alone would prevent an actual, full reversal. However, we could see a form of androgyny where women become more assertive and men less so that is not a full polar reversal. Hence, as a socially anxious and passive male, I may be a step forward in Evolution.

It seems only a small percentage of women would currently go for such males, though.

However, it might be, rationally speaking, possible for more and more women to be conditioned to prefer passive males so that it becomes a percentage higher than 50%, but it's not likely ... at least not within our lifetimes.

Well, as the percentage of males increases with those symptoms, then more and more women would have to choose between such males and denying their biological urges, something women (like men) are typically incapable of doing.

The pattern seems to be average-looking women who demand Mr. Perfect in their 20's and then wake up one day in their 30's like "oh s**t! I have wrinkles!" and then they're more likely to date someone who does not have traditionally desirable male traits. The Chinese have a term for this: "sheung nu" or "left-behind woman." They are, if anything, more prevalent in the West. The problem is that Mr. Perfect is a tiny proportion of the population who usually ends up married to Mrs. Perfect.

If this state of affairs were to happen, I would expect to see a lot more older women pairing with younger men whom they never would have dated earlier in life. I personally know a 23-year-old mildly autistic man who is dating a 35-year-old woman who was likely quite attractive 10 years ago.

well. id hope that men would be emancipated at some point and it would be solely up to the partners in a relationship to decide whos gonna be the stay at home mom or dad in case they want kids and whos going for career or doing the breadwinning or if they want to share both. (:
