A Michigan elementary school is defending its decision to confiscate a third-graders batch of homemade cupcakes because the birthday treats were decorated with plastic green Army soldiers.

Casey Fountain told Fox News that the principal of his son’s elementary school called the cupcakes “insensitive” — in light of the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.
“It disgusted me,” he said. “It’s vile they lump true American heroes with psychopathic killers.”

Ridiculous,I ate plenty of cupcakes with soldiers on them and never went on a shooting spree, fill a kid with cupcakes and they are too damn happy to kill anyone.
Ever hear of any shooting where there's food?
Massacre at Krispy Kremes,I don't think so.

No it isn't, but these weren't carrot cupcakes.

Obesity and diabetes can be rather nasty, too.

I strongly suspect white flour and sugar in those cupcakes.

Sigh........
I had my share of school cupcakes without being made fat or diabetic.

The problems with the story in question are:
1. Raptor posted it.
2. The source is Fox.
3. The cupcakes are decorated with toy soldiers.
4. Soldiers equipped with the products of government contractors.

Oh, okay. We obviously missed that when we went straight for the cupcakes.

Anyway, to be more in keeping with the original poster's intentions:

Here is a guy in a suit, with an offensive cupcake in his hand

I used to eat cupcakes, and play with toy soldiers just like those. But, I grew up in less enlightened times.

But, it never occurred to me to place a toy soldier on a cupcake. There might be some potential health issues, if the toys weren't sanitized. Suppose he just got done playing with them in the cat's litterbox.

A face like hers could stop a train.

Less enlightened = Better

It's called being creative and I bet the kids mom didn't get a federal grant to do it. :P

That paranoid about sanitation? I suggest you not eat in restaurants, then. :eew:

Well I'm against Fox but for cupcakes.
I've seen toy soldiers on cakes before,I always got the one with Cowboys, just for the horses.
If a child is foolish enough to swallow a plastic figurine on a cake that is just nature thinning the herd. The kid would have won a Darwin later on.
And those could be sprinkles, not cat litter residue.Anyway dirt is healthy for kids, builds up their immune systems. And we will never know what the cakes were made of,maybe unbleached organic flour, stevia, and carob. No need to call Haz mat.
Kids are wimps these days anyhow,I remember the good ol'days when we were given a deadly peanut butter cookie and sent out in 100 degree weather to play on the blacktop.

^^^^The peanut allergy thing, everyone ate PBJ sandwiches and school lunches always had a peanut butter cookie,I never saw anyone keel over from the cookies .When did kids become allergic to everything? They need to be exposed to more dirt.

If I still ate cupcakes, then I'd be a heck of a lot fatter than I am already.
