Opinions on The Shack by William P. Young?

I enjoyed this book immensely as it is original, witty and even non Christians or those who are not "church people" can relate to this book. It shows how Mac Phillips managed to handle the immense grief caused by the tragedy of a little girl's brutal murder and the guilt following the event, following a meeting with God a few years after the incident.

I'm not going into an in-depth analysis of the book right now but was wondering who enjoyed it and what you would rate it.

He claims to have met with God ... does he also claim to hear voices of invisible angels?

But Fnord, this is after all, a novel, in which a character called Mackenzie Phillips claims to have met with God. If you are referring to the author, well, many people claim to have met God in one or other form. Just as many folks also claim to have met anyone from aliens, people from the past, the devil, Bigfoot, chupacabras, and other supernatural beings / cryptozoological creatures.

Not all these people had a reason to invent such a tale, as not all of them were looking for money, attention or whatever...

We should view such tales with a pinch of salt maybe, but not discount them altogether, as there are many unsolved mysteries out there...
