Interesting amateur documentary made by a pair of moderate English muslims.

If the point of the video is that the EDL are the same as the Islamists, it's a statement so ludicrous and fatuous that it shouldn't even need debunking.

How many Muslims have the EDL murdered?
How many bombs have EDL members set off?

Even comparing the EDL to the UAF is a stretch.

The EDL is essentially a local movement that formed as a reaction towards aggressive Islamism in Luton. Islamism is a murderous global movement that claims thousands of innocent lives every year.

Muslims and non-Muslims lived peacefully side by side for decades before Islamists stirred up trouble in Luton. Deal with the problems behind the rise of aggressive Islamism (by basically insisting on One Law for All and getting rid of the cultural apartheid aspect and, hell, actually demanding equal rights for all) and the EDL has no reason to exist.

I'll watch the documentary tomorrow, but I did find something amusing on their FB page.

They laud Mehdi Hasan for ripping into the Daily Mail. But Mehdi Hasan also said this:

If you honestly believe if the EDL will go away after the hypothetical 'defeat' of hardline Islam, then more fool you. Contrary to their website, sweeping bigotry can be heard against all muslims on their rallies. The inevitable conclusion of such hatred is that it eventually moves onto another target group, because England will always need 'defending' from someone, don'cha know.

I sincerely believe if it weren't the muslims it would be someone else.

These right wing self appointed 'defence' groups don't simply dissapear after the conquest of their enemies. Here in Northern Ireland, the loyalist paramilitaries are as strong as ever, even in the wake of the dismantlement of the IRA and long after republican activists have ceased to be a threat to protestant communities. The loyalists went through a period where they began attacking Romani immigrants. I see the EDL as being the closest English equivalent to that.

Don't really see your point, its certainly nothing worse than what the bible or torah has to say about 'heathens'.
