ME require protection.

Quote:
Krueger says the government has a responsibility to protect citizens.

Corvus suggests the individuals IN that society have a responsibility of not being stupid, oblivious, blameful morons. What is causing the problem? Are the Ipods causing (influencing) people to run into traffic? Why are we then "blaming" the Ipods for people not paying attention?

I'm sure it is a problem, people not paying attention, but its PEOPLE not paying attention.

Wow, this is the third topic started on this (one by myself). This has clearly struck a nerve.

don't worry about it.

this is a great example of someone saying "there SHOULD be a law about that" when really there shouldn't.

Anything with earphones should be banned durig driving, and volume should be turned down substantially. My mother recently won a video iPod, and has graciously allowed me to use it. I only use it in the house...

And more to come.. And I'm sure more after

While some of these make sense, eating and drink do not. I can drink just fine, in a car and I think most people wouldnt take the time to eat a bigmac with one hand, hold a drink with another, and turn the car around and if they do, then they are a special case and the rest of us shouldnt suffer but whatever, i didnt vote these pricks in and I'm anti-government more and more everyday..

People are the worst thing to society because they blame everyone but themselves. The result is this BS.

What's ironic is when you call them on it, they try and play reverse psychology and put their behavior over on you.

What's the purpose of using the iPod if it's only around the house? Can't you just just use a computer?

What's the purpose of using an iPod elsewhere if it has to be turned up to deafening volume so you can block out surrounding noise? Ear damage sorta defeats the purpose of an iPod, doesn't it? Besides, if I don't take it out of the house, I don't lose it. Quod erat demonstrandum, savvy? Besides, my computer can't be in all rooms in the house.....
