Typical division politics on behalf of the Republicans. I like the part about women being a part of the Republican party too. They aren't just pandering to them. Some people really have their heads screwed on backwards and are way limited in their thinking. The Republican Party is really going to have to struggle to get out of this box they placed themselves in before they get buried alive. People really see them as the old, rich, white man's party and that will hurt them big time. It already does some now.
However, there is hope because the south used to hate the Yankee Republicans with a burning passion and look now, they act like the party is an incarnation of the messiah. A complete and utter 180 from the days Sherman stormed across the south-scape scorching it.

Miracles can and do happen.

Anything is possible.

It shouldn't even BE a trap. Paying women equally should be a no-brainer. Why would you torpedo your political capital by doing something as stupid as objecting to something so benign?

Because President Obama's speech indicated old, rich, white male bosses (and some women bosses too) should pay their employees more.
This is what Republicans loathe.

This trap was brilliant. Obviously, Fox News and the Repugnicans are going to be vociferously against everything that President Obama says. But, in this case, even if everything that Fox News and the Repugnicans have to say on the issue is true, they're going to be perceived as anti-woman no matter what.

One small fact you failed to mention. They are anti-woman.
It's evident women in the Republican party are self loathing, They spend most of their time making excuses and defending their guilty consciences than they ever do thinking of ways to deal with problems which is partly why government exists. They are piss poor excuses for politicians.

Quick question: will women give up their maternity leave as well, as well as other special accommodations?

This is a cynical way of looking at it, but if neither men or women are allowed maternity leave, maybe they won't have as many kids...so maybe corporations should not be required to give it to either?
I am all for a couple having two or less, don't get me wrong. I am for reproductive rights, just please, no going overboard with it.

Why should women trade one right for another? After all, if they were required to give up maternity leave pay, that would be punishing them for just being women.
