Niether abe lincoln, nor MLK, were among what is usually meant by the term "founding fathers"(ie they didnt sign the constitution, nor the declaration of independence).

Dont know who that Merkin guy was.

Why is Thomas Paine not on this list?

I voted for Washington because he was the glue that essentially held it all together. Hamilton probably won the battle of ideas though.

I picked Washington, because he was essentially offered absolute power, and turned it down.

It was a close race but I chose Jefferson.

I voted Lincoln, because, in the grand scheme of things, the American Revolution basically accomplished squat. The USA was still a nation of, by, and for rich white men. One race brutally enslave another, while a third faced systematic annihilation.

Had the USA remained under Britain, then slavery would have ended sooner, and there would have been more effort to accommodate rather than exterminate the Indians.

By freeing the slaves, Lincoln accomplished the greatest wealth redistribution in history. Suddenly, over 4 million people, who had been owned by others, owned themselves. White Southerners never fully recovered from this loss of wealth, nor this loss of prestige.
