I agree: I believe education and self-awareness leads to much happiness.

A lack of either leads to much sadness.

Responding to the title of the thread--I don't think education leads to happiness, necessarily. Sure, it allows you to get a better job and so have an easier life, but many very educated people are not happy.

I view self-awareness as one of the most important things in life, because it allows you to know your true identity. But I don't think it necessarily leads to happiness either. I think sometimes the opposite is true--people who do not have much self-awareness can be very happy because they focus on doing and enjoying things rather than analyzing themselves and noticing their differences from others.

I think happiness comes from having close, loving relationships and having a positive outlook on life.
