woman dies because denied Medicaid?
Proving that I am an equal opportunity putter of posts, this woman did not die because she was denied Medicaid by Conservative policy. She died because of a heart condition. having gotten Medicaid may or may not have prevented this death, but health care made have made her life a little more tolerable before the end came. People with very good health insurance die as a result of medical conditions every day, so I can admit that this story by a Liberal source is every bit as disingenuous as similar stories used by Conservatives who make the claims that someone dies because they were denied or had their insurance discontinued as a result of Obamacare.
I hope no human being has to suffer the postmortem indignity of having it written in their obituary that they died as a result of ideological disputes. Human beings die. We were born with a mutual destiny, each and every one of us. If you are born, you are going to die, eventually. In the end, the one thing that can be honestly said about all life is that death is a result of birth. Why complicate and distort that reality, PERIOD.
When I was growing up, back in the sixties, when someone was killed, or died, or their life came to the ultimate conclusion, it was fairly normal to hear people saying things like "it was their time" or "it was Gods will." I don't recall the exact date that human beings started looking for reasons or excuses to blame someone, or some entity, for an expiration of existence. I guess it is when people learned that there is profit to be made from death. And profit is not solely inclusive of financial gain.
It was at this undefined moment that humanity learned to profit from death, that human life was actually devalued.
And now, the story.

I am confused.
The article states Rick Scott agreed to the ACA Medicaid expansion in 2013, see here, http://thinkprogress.org/health/2013/02 ... expansion/
and the woman died in 2014 ??
So, how is faulted ??
I found this ...
•Florida: On May 3, 2013, the Florida Legislature ended its session without granting final approval to a compromise measure that would have authorized an expansion of Medicaid, which Gov. Rick Scott (R) supports. No further action on expansion is expected this year.

So, their blame is not proper, because Rick Scott support this, however, the Florida Legislature is the group responsible for turning it down.
Medicaid is complicated enough as it is without all of this ideological eye jabbing. I have never been on Medicaid, but I know a lot of people who are. I think politicians intentionally turn the process into a witches brew of bureaucracy as some form of punishment for its existence. I would imagine working in a Family Services office to be one of the most sphincter pinching jobs in existence.
