Dying from sepsis acquired during an inpatient hospital stay is not at all uncommon, whether one has insurance or not, but for an ignorant professional troll like Ann Coulter to fabricate a lie out of the incident in order to attack Obamacare says more about her lack of dignity and lack of respect for her friend than it does about Obamacare.

Ann Coulter, a millionaire, allows a "friend" to die from a hospital infection, claiming it was because the "friend" had lost her insurance because of Obamacare so did not want to seek treatment. If Ann Coulter, the millionaire, was really a "friend", or even a friend of a friend who was suffering like this, what with all her money, she would have "given" some of her money to make sure her friend got treatment. If I had a friend with that medical condition I would make sure they got to the hospital, insurance or not, to be treated. Unlike Ann Coulter, who preferred to let her friend die that horrible death just so she could exploit her "friends" death for ideological notoriety.

Please tell us again how much Conservatives "give" and how much they care. Truth be told, I would expect that Ann Coulter, had she helped, would have required the family of her friend to compensate Coulter for the expenses as soon as possible so she could make sure and claim them on her taxes as well as getting the money back from the from the family.

Pretty sure septic shock doesn't care if you have insurance or not.

For being as skinny as a rail, Coulter certainly is an evil cow.

Weak
It was Ann Coulter's sister's friend, not hers.
By the time Coulter found out about it the woman was already dead or close enough to it.
Is her sister a conservative troll, too?

'For over thirty years, Claude Filbert made a living from his opinions. Whatever the subject, he would have an opinion on it, and editors and producers could rely on two things: that that opinion would be usefully surprising and outrageous, and that he would defend it as if it wasn't.

Naturally, this made him a highly sought after pundit and panelist.'

From 1.50 on. Here's hoping Coulter and her ilk come down with Niceness Tourettes.

Just so everyone knows, sepsis caused by hospital acquired infection is one of the performance metrics written into the ACA to determine a medical facility's eligibility to receive full compensation. If you want to know more about some of these porvisions, you could use search terms like "pay for performance" and/or "Hospital Readmissions Reductions Program," (which is being credited for the recent reduction in hospital readmission rates).

Hospital acquired infection rates are around 1 in 25, but have been dropping since these new minimum standards have been introduced. I wish everyone would start to realize that all the crap in the news about the ACA is only a tiny fraction of the actual law. The majority of it is minimum standards and consumer safety regulations, with a decent chunk dealing with Medicaid expansion. The exchanges and individual mandate only make up a small portion.

Yes - I believe it was written by one of the former Watergate conspirators, who had since seen the error of his ways.

Oh, God forbid my wife and I should tell our daughter we love her, and are damaging her by it. I guess raising children to be psychopaths - which is what you get by raising kids in a loveless environment - is the far right way to go.
