First of all, Ted Talk has provided a transcript for those who do not want to watch the video:
http://www.ted.com/talks/jonathan_haidt ... transcript

Second of all, I much preferred Haidt's earlier work - The Emotional Dog and Its Rational Tail in particular, but also his co-authored article Sexual Morality: The Cultures and Emotions of Conservatives and Liberals, both from 2001.

His latest book from 2011 - The Righteous Mind - seems to drift dangerously close to becoming the "Appeal to Nature" fallacy, and he seems to have jumped on the group selection bandwagon even though the vast majority of biologists have rejected this explanation.

I recognise the name. I've come across him in a few things - interviews with him, references in written work - and there seems to be a lot of question begging going on, and of assuming his own givens.
