Something I'm listening to right now that has a lot to do with mental development and self-actualization in general. This is part of why I tend to be a fan of well-aimed and thought out philosophy, ie. it has the ability to really feel out the nooks and crannies between the subjective and objective and help us understand more clearly what we're heading toward if we endeavor to truly take self-actualization to it's proper heights.

One of the things I have noticed is that taking self-actualization to the extreme is a bit like stacking a chair on top of a chair on top of a chair on top of a chair to make a ladder - ie. you can climb pretty high but it takes a phenomenal amount of finesse to get up there, to stay up there, and you can get a sense of both agoraphobia and acrophobia at the same time because the air can get quite thin. It's because of this that one does need an incredibly stable foundation to climb from so that one doesn't end up getting swept away in delusion, Fata Morgana, or simply tumble down a hall of cognitive mirrors.
