Turkey is the exception of the Muslim world. instead of forcing women to wear headscarf, or men beating their wives because they don't wear headscarf, until recently Turkey did not allow women to wear headscarf on the university campus (except in theology schools). and on government buildings, women were attacked by CHP politicians for wearing the headscarf, and even now with the law changed thanks to erdogan (though i hate his current policies, he's evil) women are still picked on and judged for wearing the headscarf, and most turkish women don't wear the headscarf. is that the kind of life you want? religious atheism shoved down everyone's throats? and my librarian at my school thought that erdogan was trying to force women to wear the headscarf, good grief. but yes, turkey is the exception, a secular state, albeit until recently, and arguably still, too secular.

When I was in Turkey, I saw plenty of women wearing head scarves.

Pretty country, BTW.

Sounds like you a mixing up atheism with somebody's secular policies. Atheists don't give a damn what you put on your head or don't put on your head! It should be the choice of the individual women to wear a scarf or not, nobody else!

What has head adornments of women or the hairs on a chin of a man got to do with atheism? I find it somewhat disturbing that you think your culture is better because you abuse women for refusing to remove their head covering instead of abusing them to put it on.

Attack is a vague word, that covers everything from a well meaning rebuke, to beating someone to death. What does "attack" refer to in this case?
