I took a highly detailed political quiz once. I landed Slightly Left and strongly on the anarchy/anti authoritarian side of of the political spectrum. I was about as far from the Democratic party as I was from the republican party. I have long considered myself a classical liberal...like a true libertarian until the damn TEA Party religious nut /Glen Beck following weirdos took it over.

Still I vote for the man though I am registered as a Democrat. Quite often, I find myself voting for a Moderate Republican, at least on the local state level here in Idaho. I am NO fan of Barack Obama but I think the world of Michell Obama. She is a good hearted women. OF course, I didn't like Bush Jr much either. Clinton was OK...a good bean counter really but the thought of Hillary running for office turns my guts. I would gladly vote for a woman for president but not her. Sara Palin is a nut case. I think the last decent and honest person who was president was Jimmy Carter....he was just unlucky in timing. He is a good man and he loves to fly fish and not completely anti gun as he does some hunting. I like him. Good humanitarian.

I think my political heroes are Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt. I think John Huntsman Jr who ran on the Republican primary ticket last go around fit my politics well.....Mormon but in a sort of agnostic, non fundamental sort of way, fair minded, level headed and altruistic without being totally socialistic.

The TEA Party is ruining the Libertarian and Republican Party. I am a Union Member and Gun enthusiast. It seems while the Democrats claim to support Unions, they turn around and shut down much of the work Unions do.....oil field workers, timber industry, foundries, Nuclear industries (Where I work in Idaho) and Department of Defense contractors. I guess they prefer tree hugging union workers. The Far right, big business republicans do this work but want it done cheap...so I guess the Unions really don't have a voice in Washington. The truth is we can do this work and step lightly on the environment. America's air is cleaner than it has since we began burning coal and oil and so is it's water. So I guess a Nuclear Union Worker and Gun owner is just screwed. I like my guns and I like my Union Job.

I certainly don't hate Republicans - I have known and liked a number of them. It's just their policies that I can't stand -
Give as many breaks to the rich as possible, even if they sell out the American people by cutting wages and benefits, or even outsourcing to other countries.
Punishing the needy by cutting their benefits, and publicly shaming them.
Demonizing certain groups by denying them the same civil rights the rest of us enjoy - gays and Muslim Americans are two such groups.
Embracing the lunatic fringe of either religious fundamentalists, racists, or the tea party, and pretending they represent mainstream America.
Embracing pseudoscience of climate change denial, denial of evolution, and pray the gay away, to the detriment of us all.
Embracing states rights to the point of denying the role of the federal government in civil rights, leaving civil rights up to popular vote (especially concerning gay marriage), reducing civil rights protection, and even accepting the revisionist history of Neo-Confederates concerning the causes of the American Civil War.
There you have it. I think my reasons for disliking Republican policy is valid.

Keep it simple:
Democrats/liberals = Communists
Republicans/conservatives = Fascists

But haven't you been listening to the tea party? Democrats are supposed to be both communists and fascists, which they same is the same thing.

I don't have to listen to the tea party when I have you liberals to listen to them for me.

I substituted Nazi with Fascist before I hit submit to minimize potential butthurt.

When in our history did "hate" become an official, lawfully recognized synonym and substitute for, "disagree with"?

I don't differentiate most of them with Democrats, very little difference besides rhetoric to voter. The "mainstream" of both parties could be described as fascist.

With me it would have to be a calculated softness with the intent of future evildoing.

I don't think it has, but hate is different then disagree, with, when you disagree you share you're opinions in a civilized way, when someone hates another, they will attack tier beliefs, and use name calling. name calling and insults are hurtful and usually reserved for those one hates.

i think if one simply disagreed, we would say i don't agree with hat but lets agree to disagree.
at least that is how it would work in my world, unfortunately most people wish to push their ideals on others rather then simply coexist, even so I don't get the hate and name calling.

if for say I walked up to a lady and said your nothing but a Dirty filthy S**t W**re, B***H. would you assume We are debating or that I hate her. Pretty sure she would be really hurt and feel that its hate, I think rightfully so.

I hardly hate or name call, as I don't wish to hurt people. I do dislike the left for its wanting to push their ideals on others though. not the who left, but the party in general even though i am one. my party has become too focused on one issue recently, which is a shame they have made great strives for civil rights and yet they chose to attack one such right like the others they fault for were attacked.

Republican hypocrisy: they say they want less taxes and smaller government, but don't. They make fun of Democrats for wanting to raise taxes and grow government, when that is what the Republican party is about.

When a Democrat was governor in my state she tried to raise taxes, and was shot down by the Republic state congress. They called her names for trying to raise taxes. However, as soon the new Republican governor got in office, he did what he promised not to do, and put through many new tax increases. Now he is pushing to raise taxes for roads.

Republicans are the dishonest party.

Tell that to the culture of Americans who automatically assign the term "hate" to anyone who disagrees with them, or even things they cannot comprehend.

The Democrats, then, are honest, card-carrying villains?
