Why don't they appoint people with a scientific background to positions dealing with science?

He probably is being misquoted or misquoted it himself the belief that Mars is warming at the same time Earth is warming.

Apparently the interview was all on video; within the link I gave and he isn't being misquoted - you can hear him yourself. (I've not personally watched it due to not much bandwidth left this month.)

I saw the video in the link.

He IS actually saying that (to members of congress, the media, and to everyone).

That the experts "agree that the temperature on Mars is the same as here on earth", and that "we don't have coal fired plants on mars".

The point being "that we dont regulate" stuff on Mars so why do it here?

Either: he believes that the surface temperature on Mars is the same as here on Earth, or he means something else (like the temperature on Mars is rising at the same rate as it is on Earth- and they dont have cars and smokestacks on Mars to cause it). If the former: he is an idiot. If the latter he isnt aware that he is phrasing things in a way that makes him look like an idiot. If the latter: then he is ALSO an idiot. So either way he is an idiot.

He's not the only ignorant idiot in power. There are so many ignorant idiots in power who want to force their views on climate change down everyone's throats that the word "tiring" would not be an accurate description.

There are too many powerful lobbyists with vested interests in things remaining the way they are for the issues of climate change to be given the importance they deserve. Sooner or later things will be very bad with the climate but it will be too late to reverse things.

Not sure us Brits are in any position to mock American politicians when our Environment Secretary is a climate change denialist and our Health Secretary (and many of our other MPs) is an advocate for homoeopathy (and also bunk Chinese medicines).

I read or heard somewhere that LBJ pronounced Vietnam "Veet-nam" and Ku Klux Klan "Q-Klux Klan". Maybe I can find a Youtube video of it....

That IS how to say the name of the KKK. "The Cue Klux Klan" (like a cue ball, or the letter 'Q'). Isnt it? Never heard any other way of saying it.
